FontEqual is developed and operated by Slo Apps ("we", "us", or "our"), the data controller for the personal data described below. For any privacy matter, including requests to exercise your rights under section 6, contact us using the email address at the bottom of this page.
FontEqual needs access to your camera to capture text for font recognition. If you prefer, you can upload an image from your gallery instead, in which case we only access the single image you select.
When you run a scan, the cropped image is sent to our own recognition service to identify the font. It is processed for that request only and is not stored on our servers afterwards. Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device.
Your scan results and favourite fonts, including the associated images, are stored in a database on your device only. They are never uploaded to our servers, and you can delete them at any time in Settings.
The app is free and supported by ads delivered by ironSource / Unity LevelPlay. If you consent, your device's advertising ID is used to show ads relevant to you. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized. You can change this choice at any time in the app under Settings, using the "Personalized ads" switch.
A subscription removes the need to watch ads to continue scanning.
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized, aggregated usage data such as the number of scans, fonts downloaded and errors encountered. This helps us find bugs and improve accuracy. It does not include your images or the content of your scans.
Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details.
Personalized advertising is based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Providing the font recognition service is based on performance of our agreement with you. Analytics is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app.

These providers may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area, under safeguards required by applicable law. We do not sell your personal data.
Scan history and saved fonts remain on your device until you delete them. Images sent for recognition are not retained after the request completes. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the policies of Google and ironSource respectively.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may exercise these rights using the contact address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority; in Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
FontEqual is not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
All communication with our services is encrypted over HTTPS. Data stored on your device is kept in the application sandbox, accessible only to FontEqual. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data.
This website uses Statcounter to collect anonymous visit statistics, such as page views and referring sites. This data is not linked to your use of the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
